Mauritius is one of South Africa’s favourite holiday destinations!

Great news for travellers between South Africa and the tropical island destination of Mauritius! South African Airways (SAA) has increased its number of flights to meet the growing demand for this beautiful destination.

The national flag carrier is delighted to announce the relaunch of its service to Mauritius with a daily morning flight, which took off in November 2021. And there’s more good news! SAA is adding another morning flight between Johannesburg’s OR Tambo International Airport and Mauritius.

We are delighted to announce that, as of 1 December 2024, SAA customers will have the fantastic option of two daily morning departure times from Johannesburg between the two destinations.

The first flight, SA190, departs Johannesburg at 09:40, arriving in Mauritius at 15:40.
The second flight, SA192, will depart Johannesburg at 10:45, arriving in Mauritius at 16:45 (local time).
And the return flights from Mauritius are as follows in local time: 16:30, arriving in Johannesburg at 18:55
SA 193, departing Mauritius at 17:35, arriving in Johannesburg at 20:00
“We are thrilled to announce that we are increasing the frequency of flights to Mauritius in response to the overwhelming demand from leisure and business travellers,” said SAA’s Interim Chief Commercial Officer, Mr Tebogo Tsimane.

“There’s no doubt about it, Mauritius is one of South Africa’s favourite holiday destinations! It’s the perfect tropical island getaway, and it’s just four hours away from Johannesburg! . And there’s more! Mauritius is also an important investment destination and financial services hub, with many major South African companies and brands expanding their operations on the island.

Increasing frequencies of the current destinations is a key component of SAA’s growth strategy.
